How many guests can one flushing unit handle?

One deluxe flushing unit handles about 40 to 50 guests at a 4-hour event. The fresh-water tank allows roughly 150 to 200 flushes before it needs a refill. For 100 guests, rent 2 flushing units plus 1 standard unit for overflow, or step up to a 2-stall restroom trailer.

When should you book a deluxe unit?

Book deluxe flushing units 3 to 6 weeks ahead for May through October Saturdays. The deluxe fleet is smaller than the standard fleet, and wedding season on the Eastern Shore fills it first. Weekday and off-season bookings usually work with a few days' notice.

If deluxe units are booked for your date, the next-best setup is a standard unit plus a handwashing station. For 100+ guests, look at restroom trailers.

Do flushing porta potties need to be hooked up to water?

Deluxe flushing units do not need a hookup. Each one carries its own fresh-water tank for the flush and sink, and the tank is filled before delivery.

Is the flush hands-free?

The flush is a foot pedal and the sink is a foot pump, so guests touch only the door handle and the paper towels.

Are flushing units worth it for a backyard party?

Flushing units are worth it when guests are dressed up or older relatives will use them. For a casual cookout, a standard unit and a handwashing station cost less and work just as well.

What if the flushing water runs out during the party?

The tank allows about 150 to 200 flushes. For events of more than 50 guests per unit or longer than 6 hours, add a mid-event refill or a second unit.
